My Approach
I hold great regard and empathy for each person I counsel. I view you as the expert of your own experiences, and so I take a collaborative approach to counseling. I have extensive experience helping others and a strong sense of confidence as a therapist. After identifying options for change, together we create a treatment plan designed to help you meet your goals. I utilize evidence-based treatments such as mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral therapy in addition to personal creativity, wilderness experiences and even humor. I value your input and aim to treat you with respect and open-mindedness. I will challenge you to move beyond your comfort zone as you engage in your therapy. You can expect to receive practical techniques that you can apply right away and a gentle presence that you can count on as you begin to make desired changes.

PTSD
In response to trauma, we adapt to our circumstances to the best of our abilities. I offer guidance and support to help people re-gain a sense of safety, connection, and acceptance. I specialize in helping those that have been exposed to war (veterans, civilians or refugees), an accident, natural disaster or a violent crime or assault.
Fear of Fear
When we learn to fear the sensations of our own fear response system, we are often burdened with an increase in avoidance behaviors. I help people learn how to trust their fear sensations without experiencing undue distress. This often times helps with reducing feelings of fatigue, pain, loneliness and disconnection to oneself.
Loss or Grief
Supporting those navigating the process of grief whether in response to a death or healing from the impact of past trauma and loss.
Wilderness Disconnection
Offering outdoor therapy in a natural setting while incorporating wilderness and lifestyle sustainability principles into all sessions.
Depression
I provide treatment of depression using a holistic approach, including nature-based therapies and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.
Anxiety
Serving those who struggle with anxious thoughts and feelings. Providing mindfulness-based anxiety treatment for building acceptance and distress tolerance.
